How It Works

The 3 steps

1. Tell us about the vehicle

   Call (206) 941-0612 or send the pickup form: year, make and model, whether it runs, whether you have the title, where it is parked, and up to three photos. We call you back within 4 hours.

2. Pick a pickup time

   Same-day pickup is often possible, or we come at a time that suits you. We are open 7 days a week, 8 AM to 11 PM.

3. We tow it and pay you

   Our driver arrives with a flatbed tow truck, checks the paperwork, loads the vehicle and pays you cash on the spot. There is no charge for the towing.

How your offer is worked out

Every vehicle is different, so we look at five things before making an offer.

• Year and model
• Condition
• Demand for its parts
• Weight and size
• Towing distance

Some vehicles that are incomplete (a shell) may carry a fee for pickup or may be declined. More detail is on our Cash for Cars page.

What to have ready

• Paperwork

  One of these: the Title, an Affidavit in Lieu of Title, or a Junk Vehicle Affidavit. No title, but registered in your name in Washington? Call us and we will help. See the paperwork guide.

• Personal items out

  Check the glove box, trunk and under the seats, and take the registration and proof of insurance with you.

• License plates off

  Washington DOL says the seller must remove the plates. You can transfer them to another vehicle of the same kind or turn them in.

• A clear path

  Tell us if the vehicle is in a garage, a tight driveway or a parking lot, so the driver can plan the pickup.

Pickup day and after

• On pickup day

  We recommend being there when the driver arrives, so you can hand over the paperwork and receive your cash. You do not need to take the car apart or do anything else to it first. We take care of that.

• Within 5 days

  Washington DOL asks sellers to file a Report of Sale within 5 days of the sale, not counting weekends and state holidays. It protects you from towing charges and other liabilities after the sale. How to file.

What happens to your car

Your vehicle is towed to one of the auto steel recyclers where the fluids are drained; the tires and batteries are removed prior to the vehicle being crushed and shipped off to be melted down and used again in the manufacturing process.
